Habarana is a small town with a crossroads as the centre , it's a great place to get to other places from so a perfect base for us. You get at least four dishes - the dish you actually ordered, plus a daal, plus two other vegetable dishes like a potato or lady fingers and chillies (who knew 'lady fingers' was a vegetable?!).It's also very hot! The the music here is English and there are plenty of Christmas songs. It's fab because there are Buddhists, Catholics and Muslims who all celebrate each other's festivals and respect each other's ways of life. It's a great start so far, can't wait for day ...
... the afternoon we went to the museum which contained maps and diagrams explaining the site but also some beautiful statues and pottery found at the site. The hotel owner was relieved (or perhaps surprised) to see me back safely as he said, “ The start on bike was not good, very wobbly”
