... town' Francés bought us all frozen guava juice in a plastic bag- in other words a Honduran ice lolly. After playing in the park for a while, we were taken to a comedor. We were treated to baleadas and much to our relief there was no meat in them. We don't trust the comedors a huge amount after those who ate in one last Sunday were ill most of the next day. The bus journey back was an experience, we had to wait 45 minutes for it and when it eventually turned ...

... of discovering we have a new member of the family. A tiny tiny puppy who the last few nights has been crying relentlessly for his mum. I'm not sure many people benefited from the long 2 hours of learning the alphabet and numbers 1-10. After that we spent some time with the UK volunteers who are living in la Esperanza. Walking round the city in a big group was tiring and hard to keep everyone happy. I think we (the el carrizal volunteers) have already become too accustomed to quiet calm village life, where there ...

... immune from the tropical rainstorm. I sacrificed my coat to protect my rucksack. When we reached home the whole front yard was flooded but coffee and a warm kitchen were gratefully received. We were like drowned rats and I can't say we were estatic to remember that to warm up we would be using our freezing cold shower and I've got to say it felt colder than ever. 2. The washing: I can confirm Noel and I are now official pila users. We wash dishes when we are able to sneak out of ...
