... Welshman's Island owned by Edward Williams from Wales then purchased by Paul Mask. Nice drive with cabins and homes dotted on the edge of the water round the island.

... and worn out by trying to find Barry's Bay Cottages. He showed Richard how to use the TV and heating system as the cabin or cottage was very cold including us.

We settled in very quickly got the cabin all nice and warm then walked down to the lake just through the front cabins (some were closed for repairs or winter). So nice and peaceful here, all the cabins are unlocked so we were sticky-becks and looked inside all nearly the same decor as ours. ...

We traveled to Bancroft to visit our old Farmhouse neighbours Shane and Beth on Remembrance Day. Easy to remember because the town of Apsley closed the road we were driving on for a memorial service and, unable to continue, we got out of the car to watch the service and remember.

Shane and Beth have been renovating what was once their rugged cottage on a beaver pond into a comfortable primary residence. ...
