    We arrived this evening and checked into our really nice hotel. We then went back out to see if the visitor center was still open. It wasn't, so we went to check out a lighthouse, an old furnace at the Hiawatha National Forest, and a small town called Christmas. It was an enjoyable evening that ended with free pancakes at our hotel. ...

    ... It is 3 hours long and worked out really well to do it our first evening and leave part of the next day free. We dropped the trailer at our campground, paused for a few minutes to take in the great view of Lake Superior and set off to explore and look for something to eat before our cruise.     ... The scenery is beautiful! There are tons of pine trees and every now an then you will get a view of a huge wetland or Lake Michigan.

    Last night it rained all night and it is still drizzling this morning. We are going to go to Seney National Wildlife Refuge and then making our way to a campground near Porcupine Mountain State Park.

    ... sitting there for almost a year, under a tarp. Our neighbour might not have noticed had the gate been closed. So now there needs to be a police report filed from both the neighbour and my brother in law who lives in Vancouver. Gawd.....added brother in law apparently does not have insurance.... By the way, I only share this blog with specific people so please don't forward without asking....I would hate to think we have inadvertently let people know we are away ...
