Today lived up to the guide's hype. We started with a shuttle from Menthon to St Etienne de Cuines where we started our ride from the parking lot of a InterMarche. We were cautioned to pace ourselves given the length of the route and the amount of climbing, so after a short spin up the valley, we tried to take it easy up the climb of Lacets du Montvernier but the road had other ideas. ... is encouraging each other and just focused on riding your own pace up these climbs. I have been very impressed with some of the riders. People you would never guess could ride a bike up a mountain turn out to be very strong. It was been fun conquering this week and getting to know people from all over the country.

with an avg % incline of 7.2%. Definitely a way to wake you up in the morning! From
here we did a medium length decent and began the long grind up the Col de la
Croix-Fer. The incline wasn’t too bad but it sure was long! It took us a good
60-90 minutes (with a few rest stops) to get to the top. From here there were
some amazing views of the surrounding mountains. We had a picnic lunch at the
top and took a good ...
