... has there moment of not feeling good. It was my turn to suffer a little on the bike. I probably went a little too deep the day before when I attacked up the hill and didn't recover well that afternoon. I should have know better but it was fun attacking on the last climb. Now it was hot and there was no support van to get water and no choice but to continue on. Ray and Rich hung with me and we finally reached the tents.

bike we climbed. During this ride the weather was clear, sunny and very hot for
the Alps. Avg temperatures were in the low 90s. Thankfully the humidity was
low. It was much better than riding in Austin in July and August. I tried to
stay focused on drinking and eating a lot throughout the day.

Our next climb, the Col des Aravia was short, only a few
miles, with an average incline of 3%. Our joke was that 3% ...
