    Turtle Beach Lodge Tortugero

... in Europe. This particular altitude has black volcanic soil that provides the coffee with necessary minerals to thrive. There are fewer and shorter trees growing here which allow the sun to penetrate down to the coffee plants to give the minimum of 8 hours of sunlight the pampered coffee beans require. As we passed through the mountain range in the tropical rain, the rolling rivers and vertical walls on either side towered to 200 feet and were covered with lush vegetation ...

... hunting but came up empty. The bus dropped us off on a pier not far from Rio Danta where we were to take a boat ride through the canals to Pachira Lodge. While on the canal we spotted a couple of large crocodiles and caimans we even managed to snap a photo of a Jesus Christ lizard as it sprinted across the river. On arrival we were handed a welcome cocktail and shown to our cabin. It was nothing like the hotel we had come from, no huge bath, no air conditioning or room service. ...

... much for it and it fails to turn on, but usually it dries out after a little while and returns to normal. However yesterday when this happened it started giving out error messages and doing lots of weird things like clicking non-stop when it dried out enough to switch on. I am having flashbacks to when we were in Lanzarote and Jim had similar problems with his last camera, (I am sure Paul and Sheila will remember, it became something of an obsession?). It ...

Our holiday started in earnest when the group met in the hotel lobby at 6am for 6.30 start. Stupidly I had set two alarms and asked for wake up call when of course I was wide awake from about 4. There are 16 in the group and seem to be a fairly mixed lot as I expected but weighted to retired well travelled couples. Two sisters, two women on their own and four younger people. These included the two girls we had seen yesterday at Britt. All ...
