... our bags our hosts took us on a tour of the wooded land that surrounds Mammoth. The fantasic structure in the background is Devil's Postpile.

... our path we met a deer. The deer was hiding behind some bushes, checking out if it was safe to come out. It eventually did, until Jase made a sound and it ran off. The limestone coming out of the lakes were quite interesting. Upon visiting the lake, I had a quick look at some history and found the limestone or Tufas as they are called, only surfaced after LA diverted water from the lake for their watering needs.

... real! we drove to the end and back with the rive on one side. The poor little van struggled up and down the hills. We drove to sequioa national park and saw the worlds largest tree which was cool, and then left the next morning to drive to death valley, the hottest place in the world.
So we had been driving about 7 hours when we got to death valley. We drove down the winding roads to the bottom and it was so hot 130 degrees farenheit actually.maybe hotter. And we have no air ...

... with the windows rolled up most of the way! Guess it just took away the one crazy heat wind factor. Our first viewpoint took us up a small hill (crazy, we know) for a neat overlook into the start of the valley and its many different layers. Then we kept driving into the valley to the Visitor Centre and picked up a map – then decided to drive on a small detour into the valley and finding Badwater Basin, the lowest elevation point in the northern hemisphere.
