    ... a little over 10 miles each. It may not seem like much, but the entire climb and especially the long hills take their toll. By the end, your legs ache and shake.

    Now, this year, I plan to complete the entire 31.2 miles on my own, solo. We finished XC season on November 8, and I've been training for the 50K since.

    ... grade for about a mile to the black sand beach that we see from our Cliffhouse. It’s easy to get seduced by the thunder of the pounding incoming waves, the sheen of the black sand beach under our toes, the smooth water worn rocks that are strewn across the beach, fording the stream to get to walk the full length of this beach.
