    ... whales with a baby playing in the bay. :) Our pilot Pete was pretty surprised that they were in so close to the break in Hilo bay. You could see the baby playing and rolling, and slapping its tail. :) That was a pretty fun excursion. We were lucky to have had the chance to do it in our lifetime.     ... Our next flight was delayed but after a quick 50 min flight we landed in Hilo. Another unusual airport for us. This airport really makes you feel like you're on island time with open air terminals and gardens throughout. It feels like a zoo or bird sanctuary. You can imagine how relaxed air travel must have been here before 9/11. We were exhausted by now.

    ... to the room at 7:50. Dad was up and Andrew had brought our breakfast so I sat down to pineapple, and a small croissant au chocolat . I will save the other incase I need some food on shore!
