Hand Outs are Not a Hand Up
Arrived in the metropolis of Durban. At first impressions, it is dirty and full of crime - but given a chance people see that there is a good nightlife, restaurant, theatre and shopping scene. Ushaka marine aquarium offers diving, canoe rentals and tours. Natal shark research hosts shark autopsys. Has it been THREE WEEKS already??

friends here, and that is all I really need. I also just had a whirlwind two
weeks which began with two of my closest fellow Fulbright ETA friends, Mariel
and Dru, coming to visit me in PE, along with my good friend, Kim, from Temple,
who flew over for Spring Break. It was exactly what I needed; to be surrounded
by people who know me so well for an extended period of time, after a bit of a drought,
was FANTASTIC! The two ETA’s came ...
Whirlwind
... exercises near the Durban coastline so many of them had come to shore for the weekend and made their way to the cricket ground. Our 1st experience of Twenty20 cricket and its definitely a lot of glitz and glamour with fireworks and music going off at every opportunity and dancers all around the pitch which made the boys from the Indian Navy very happy. Chennai Superkings crushed the Central Stags so the majority of the crowd went home happy.
