... rest of the gang had disappered up to tower 14 while we took a right towards tower # 6 and the chairlift down.

So with my wake up call at 5:30 nearly giving me a heart attack I got up and ready for breakfast - met everyone at 6! We got the coach to the Great Wall and took the cable cars to the top - couldn't see a thing at first which was probably a good thing as if we did I wouldn't have managed to keep climbing!!! When we got to the top it started clearing up and managed to get a great view by the end. It was incredible!! We took the toboggans down which was so fun - the breeze ...

... that we could not see past a few hundred meters, but it was still nice to look over the city.
We decided to spend the rest of the afternoon in the nearby hutong. This hutong was very set up for tourists, that I don't think anything original actually exists there. There are rickshaw drivers and souvenir shops lining the very clean roads. It was still nice, and you could still feel the old sense of spirit of the place. ... br> It was great, as many of the small streets & alleyways that criss crossed the main street were real local streets full of stores, eateries, bikes & chaos! The closer to the Square you got, the more touristy it was, with market & food stalls, you'll see on the photo's below there were some beautiful buildings, so colourful & decorative, a real pleasure to walk along.
