    Hi Mom, writing to you as I fly over France. Kind of a surreal sentence that I never thought I would type out haha. Our flight left Barcelona about an hour late so depending on how fast we get through customs should be back to Lee Abbey between 12 and 1. Looking forward to sleeping for longer than 6 hours.     ... ham, cheese and egg with a leafy green salad and tomatoes. The main course was steak, beans and salad leaves so we ordered some pommes frites which were delicious. Dessert was an apple tart with crème anglaise, with Brad ordering some vanilla ice-cream to go with his. It was such good value and the service was quick and friendly.

    ... Magic also featured as a priest disappeared from under his cloak in a puff of smoke. As the village went up in smoke we could feel the great heat coming from huge flames - once again amazing! The technology used is unbelievably hi-tech and amazing!!!

    ... to see such diverse uses of this beautiful countryside all in a short drive.
    I was in this town on way South in May so I knew choices were limited for sustenance but Sundays are even worse. Two bars open and both were going to be closed at 18:00 after paying €10.60 for a large and a small beer....sacre bleu!
    The parks by the river were thronged on this glorious Sunday afternoon, family picnics, cyclists and fishermen on the banks ...

    ... done! I had a Post office Travel Card which I loaded with Euro's prior to leaving and this could be used to get cash or pay for items like a switch card. I had twice tried to pay for fuel with it but it was declined. I subsequently located a cash point and it worked - will be calling them when I get back.
