    We caught the train to Tachikawa but did not realise that we had to change trains. In the past, we just went directly there. We were wondering why the people got off the train.     ... in a museum). A lot of the other building around the castle was not so lucky, mostly burnt down in a fire that ravaged the area. The walls around the castle still stood - complete with a moat surrounded the castle grounds. Matsumoto Castle, our first castle of the trip (with many more to see) was well worth the visit.
