Det aeldre amerikanske par fra Californien var dybt imporneret over, at vi to skandinaviske drenge havde siddet paa toppen af en LOKALBUS til Chitwan Nationalpark. Na het ontbijt werden we verwelkomd door Namgel, onze gids gedurende de reis. Hij gaf ons de typische Nepalese welkomstsjaal ('kata', brengt geluk) die wij nog vaker zouden tegenkomen. Ook sloegen we water in, ieder zijn eigen fles dit keer gezien de hygiëne. Met de bus het chaotische verkeer in (iedereen heeft zijn toeter bij de hand) naar Pashupatinath (een Hindu heiligdom). Jetlagged and having skipped lunch, we head out for an early dinner at the Shree Lal Indian Vegetarian restaurant, a basement with walls plastered and whitewashed to resemble a Himalayan range.
