... and then head up a further couple of km’s and we’d be there. Finally, after quite a walk (even more so for a couple who haven’t done much physical exercise this year) we made it up to the Pagoda and the stunning view of Pokhara, the lake and the mountains. We decided to take the short way down and get a row boat across the lake – that was enough exercise for the day. We had an early start the next morning and headed up to Sarangkot to watch the ...
Kathmandu, Nepal tandlittleman... of Kathmandu , Thamel in particular, which was a hectic but a pleasurable experience. Of course there are no pavements, road markings or traffic lights so it is a free for all which is actually quite exciting when you are driving! The people here are friendly and there is not too much hassle. After a nice day we were transferred to Nagarkot, which meant a beautiful but hair-raising climb into the hills.

Kathmandu, Nepal marymc21... decision. Another horrific bus ride back to KTM, just as bad as on the way in. Scared-of-heights-Andrew and myself were almost screaming like girls, our faces must have been a picture cos one Nepali just kept staring. Couldn't work out what all the fuss was about I guess! Had theee best pizza ever last night at Roadhouse Restaurant, which weirdly I'd been to before 3 years ago. A little bit surreal! We then found Sam's Bar on Reggae night, wasn't the most ...

When you look up at the stars you cannot help feel extremely small and insignificant, they are sublime and in their presence you can allow your mind to open up to much more realms of possibilities. I gradually watch the sky get lighter and with the sun coming up on the horizon all of the stars vanish in an instant. This is another great part of the day as everything slowly starts to come to life from nature to the people. My motorbike is just a ...
Kathmandu, Nepal shiftingfocus... our afternoon spent sitting on the floor of this little shop listening to Neil's soothing voice. He also answered all our questions about Nepali politics and an hour after he was telling us he expected some riots in the next few months (because the prime minister resigned yesterday) a loud Maoist demonstration took place in front of the store interrupting our charming conversation. We all got out to watch the crowd. I left my friends for a little while. I had noticed ...
