    ... guisada! Sorry Pig Stand, but we have moved up in the breakfast dive world! Then to Central Market to get picnic provisions - a Cuban sandwich, fruit, chocolate, and wine. We drove to the Mission San Jose and parked the truck (free! but we did make a donation). Got on the bikes and then to the Mission Trail we went.

    BTW the Mission Bike Trail is wonderful! It runs through the heart of San Antonio, then south through 4 ...

    ... the Guadalupe River. We had dinner at the Alpine Hause, a quaint German restaurant in the middle of town, highly recommended by us.     ... Cafe. Their lunch special on Friday was fried catfish and shrimp with sweet potato fries. We topped it off with their bread pudding - the waiter thought it was a fabulous dish - but the bread pudding had raisins in it which is not my favorite. But they put on the side of the bread pudding fried bananas and caramelized nuts with a bit of ice cream that was just as good as the bread pudding!!!

    ... close. It was awesome! We caught some more glances of the lions, and the monkeys, of course.

    The lemurs are a funny story. Because there are so few of them, they need companionship. So, the caretakers put outdoor cats inside the enclosure with them. The lemurs learned how to meow! It's hilarious.
