Time for New tires again!
We left North Padre Island and drove through Beeville TX. Beeville was one of the places I was stationed while in the Navy. The base is now a prison (kinda was when I was there as I recall! San Antonio
... along the San Antonio river littered with restaurant rows. I took my time and walked along both banks for as far as I could. It was quite and beautiful.
I thought of some fine dining for Lunch and went to 'Boudro's On the River Walk'. Food was delicious. Very expensive though.
I walked around downtown for a while and then headed to Austin.

Day Fifteen - Texas Cowboy Country
... shade when you are on a road trip. The vegetation became greener with out crops of sun-bleached jagged hills/mountains often with flat tops. I started to see large herds of cattle on the range. Now I felt like I was in a western movie. This landscape also appeared to go on forever. The highway was in excellent shape and made for a great evening ride. This is cowboy country. Travel Tip - on these secondary highways, fill up your fuel tank at every opportunity. ...
