    ... so much.... Anyway she spent about half-an-hour talking the route with my dad, signed his book and sent us off.

    "It was good talking with you, but I have some work I need to get done, not like that lay-about Gary Turner, spending his days telling stories that most likely ain't even true!" (She might not have spoken those exact words, but if she'd thought of them, she would have.)

    From there we picked up the "sodee Pop" and headed out of Cuba. Cuba, MO not the country. ...

    ... least 45 mph faster then any posted speed limit... except in town drive really slow ; it averages out that way.
    2. All yellow lines mean pass really fast.
    3. Double yellow lines mean pass really, really fast.
    4. When the wheels scream around a turn, take the next one 10 mph faster (The wheels must have too many squeaks in them. Doubling and tripling your speed is important. It helps get the squeaks out).

    ... rescue and went to drug store and all is now well but Lisa now HATES hornets! Met some lovely people along the way ( pity we missed you at the big rocking chair Billie - but we have to move on) The people at Skippys were first class, Thanks for a great lunch!     ... temperature was pretty comfortable reaching down into the mid 40's, but it rained all freaking night. It never got too hard, but it also never really stopped either until it was time to wake up. Overall, the area got about a 1/2 inch of rain overnight. Luckily, my tent held and I was able to stay dry. This would actually be the only time I had to deal with rain on any of the nights that I camped out.

    ... and out of the way detour. You want to talk about rural? There is absolutely nothing in South Central Missouri. It felt like one of the most rural, desolate locations of the entire journey. Despite the twists and the turns, I was able to make it to Osage Beach at a reasonable hour and upon my arrival, I discovered that I had access to a full kitchen and a charcoal grill.
