Today, we have our shuttle to Demre where we will begin our cruise. It's about 1.5 hours from Olympos. Breakfast at Byram's is a typical Turkish breakfast with made to order omelette. There are olives, yogurt, fruit, cheese, bread. There will be 13 of us on the gulet (Turkish sail boat) cruise on the Turquoise Coast. Judy and I are the oldest by 10 years! ... feeling of being in a washing machine with wave movement against the underlying cave. We were pleased to get our luggage back late at night eventually. Today we had a full day touring the old cities of Perge, Aspendos and the port city of Side. Antalya is very luscious and green with an almost subtropical climate. We could see green fields and orchards everywhere , quite a difference from the last few days. We stopped initially at a little Waterfall ...

... in all we were a bit disappointed in the site. An obvious fact was the main item, the Amphitheatre was being restored....yet again another restoration. We also thought the restoration was a bit too much. Maybe you can see from the picture the roof of the seating...very nice neat gravel? The stone for the site was mostly a very coarse conglomerate (big lumpy rocks for the non-geologist!) and clearly difficult to ...
