Haina Safari Lodge Central Kalahari Game Reserve

... gorgeous! As we drove on we saw lots of other beauties, antelope, crocodiles, hippos and best of all Elephants! In the late afternoon we went on a river cruise on the Chobe River, we'd had more rain and weren't particularly convinced how much there would be to see especially after our brilliant game drive in the morning, but it was even better - we got closer to all the animals who were coming to drink at the waters edge. The journey had been extremely bumpy and I did wonder if we were in the right country because all we saw en-route were Donkeys and cows all over the place!
We crashed out to bed so we could be ready for the 5am alarm to be on the road by 7am to travel the 3 hours to the Zambian border.. !
By 8am I was busting for a wee on a bus,on a road that has NOTHING on it for hundreds of Kilometres ...

... SA and then continued to base camp to a place called Elephants Sands in Nata. We didn't arrive until nearly 6/7pm so a long long day. We pitched our tents at the sight and headed to the bar area for a much deserved cold beer. ... Brakah Camp is 3km back down the track from the lodge and the manager gave us permission to do our own game drives within his farm, which we did, and we saw loads. No lions although we did hear them at night, and saw very large paw prints on the sandy roads. Travelled all day on the truck and got to the camp site just as sun was setting, so trying tp put a tent up in the dark was interesting fun, good thing had a head torch so i could avoid all the ants nests. Then had a meeting at the bar for everyone that was going into the Okovango Delta for 2 days. Only 5 people didnt want to go in either because of the cost or the high probability that ti will rain every day while there.
