... br> Now we are off to Istanbul. Lufthansa planes leave a lot to be desired - the first class seats were just coach seats - two rows of three across - but they leave the middle seat empty - that is supposedly what constitutes First Class - oh well - it was a short flight - just over 2 hours.

Munich
Munich seemed to fly by. We definitely could have stayed another day. The trouble with sight seeing is that you miss the local flavor of a city and only see the over produced tourist traps. Oktoberfest!
... done a whole heap of these tours during my time away and they're a bit hit and miss...this one was definitely a hit. The guide was knowledgeable and genuinely funny....a good mix. The tour lasted almost four hours and I learned a lot. I'm not going to go into everything, but let's just say that Munich has a crazy and very interesting history.
After the tour I grabbed a bite to eat, made a call to Prue, and then made my way back to The Tent. The weather was still OK ...

Munich. Ohhh Munich. I call Munich my second home. I studied abroad three fall semesters in Munich and fell in love with the city and Bavaria. Lufthansa offers a non-stop flight from Charlotte, NC straight to the Munich airport and makes the idea of flying back ever more enticing.
