11-11-11!
My flight from Palau got into Manila very early in the morning, so I had 5 hours to kill before my bus to the rice terraces. There was a direct night bus but I didn't want to wait a whole day for it, so I took a combination of Victory Liner bus at 5am. This got to Bagabag 9.5 hours later where I had to catch 2 different jeepneys to get to Banaue …
Around Bontoc
The road from Sagada to Banaue is about 2 1/2 hour drive in our private van. We had the driver give us a tour of Bontoc, and the Hi-Wang Native Village. Bontoc has many nice rice terraces; and the Native Village is privately owned where the owner has built about 10-12 ifuguo huts for overnight guest stay; and he has placed his "rice guard statue" …
Hapao and Hungduan Rice Terraces
We signed up a personal guide and driver to drive us in a van for a personal tour. But we saw about 100 college kids from Manila that would do a bit of clean up in the day; then head out in Jeepnies with about 50 kids with boys sitting on top the buggage rack. The Hapao and Hungduan rice terraces are one of the 5 UNESCO world heritage sites (that …

This driver and our last driver have been the most cautious drivers in all of Asia, which is a nice change. We had the regular people getting on the bus at …
The rice terraces of Batad

There is a view point two kilometers from the town but I chose …

Bed was the best we had in a while. Weak water pressure, smelled moldy our room was noisy as there was a giant meeting room outside our window, which was really an interior window. Nice staff, food ok.
