... documents to anyone on the Laos side… is it possible our scenario had happened before?).

On the Laos exit side a group of understanding westerners and locals kindly let us jump to the front of the line. We got the coveted exit stamp and then paid the exit fee of 20 Thai Bat ($0.66CDN). Now we had to get back to the Thai border and back to the train station!

It was 6:01pm. Our train was leaving in 19 minutes.
