I sleep with the bear spray next to my bed. Glacier National Park is around 6 miles from our camp and we have no transport. The trail began easily enough through some thick low elevation forests that wound around Lake Sherburne. The day before at Virginia Falls we had met a young couple from China whom we had asked to take our picture. As we walked the trail towards Cracker Lake we noticed the same Chinese couple walking behind us. Through a series of photo stops ...

The undergrowth is coming back, but the trees are all dead. As a result: no shade. It was hot! I’m pretty sure I was dehydrated by the time I got back to the car. The views were amazing, though. It was fun, but it wore me out! And I ...
