... point to Denali (still 26 miles away from the mountain). It only has 28 tent sites and is often totally booked during the summer. Of course, we said, "heck, yay, we want to go there," and after 2 nights at Riley we boarded a bus for Wonder Lake. It's a five hour bus ride out there. It takes that long because for 85 miles buses don't go over 25 mph. The buses make several stops for pictures and potties. They also stop if they see wildlife, so we stopped ...

... I have been fortunate enough to visit several of our national parks, and I have always been super impressed with them. This one might take the cake, though. The main entrance, while not as large as say Yosemite, is still large with exhibits, a bookstore, restaurant... Everything is so neat and clean and extremely well built. There is only one road in the park, it goes for 93 miles. There are a few campgrounds beyond mile 15 and you must ...

... way back it cleared up and we saw more grizzly, caribou and moose. We got back to our camp site and prepared to have dinner and a fire while making s'mores. It started pouring again, so we are inside watching the movie RV. So far, looking at all three times I have been here, this was my favorite activity. Tomorrow we head out early to do our ATV ride along the Stampede Trail. These are probably only half the pictures I took ...

... We explored the little town, had some local brew, ate an awesome pizza, and watched a film about the Denali mountain climbers. Interesting and frightening challenge. 1204 climbers were on the mountain this year and only 400 made the summit. It's not a technically difficult climb but bad weather and altitude sickness are problems. Off to Anchorage ...
