... an indication to speed up, using his horn as much as possible, sending people, motorbikes and animals fleeing for their lives.
Eventually we arrived in Botagoto and checked in to a 'lovely' hotel, where we went to bed shattered. This was not before we visited the toilets (a hole in the floor), unfortunately someone had missed the hole whilst having a number 2...... nice!!!!!

... s. I can also confirm gorilla **** does stink and it is huge and with a family group of 34 gorillas there was a lot of it.
The result was we saw the gorillas and it was interesting.. we conquered a very small part of the forest.. and returned absolutely knackered. We are not planning to do anything like that again. Darren has said if you can’t see it through the windscreen then I am not interested.
... I’m astounded to see THE BIG GUY sitting right there, not much more than 2 metres from me. There’s the surge of adrenalin at knowing this guy could woop your @ss with a flick of the forearm and yet the other 14 members of your team are lined up with wide smiles in awe and you know it’s ok and this is gonna be GREAT. It’s still raining but you could stand there for hours in the rain watching these guys. He’s just sitting there, almost in a ...
Colline Nyarugina, Ruhengeri, Rwanda ashling... having sex. Almost to the minute, the gorillas disappeared within an hour of us watching them. In all, we all had a wonderful time watching them and were in heaven! We headed down with our guides and when we got to the bottom the guys with guns quietly disappeared. Back at the ranger station, we received a gorilla graduation letter which was kind of cool. We returned at about midday and we again had a half day to do whatever. I opted to look and play with ...
Ruhengeri, Ruhengeri, Rwanda travel_lover87... taxy driver to take me to the Volcanos National Park headquarters, which are 12 km from the town. I wanted to try to see if I can do some trek in the mountains. I rode the bike again all the way to the park. It was a great feeling! Going throught the little vilages, banana plants and fields with maze and other crops. Most houses, made of mud ans trees, with the straw roofs, just like you have seen it on Discovery channel. We made it to the park, and it turned out ...
Ruhengeri, Rwanda bilieva... whole walk out of the forest took approx 2 hours and it was an elated and very tired group that sung their way back to camp. We were presented with our gorilla tracking certificates and Paul drove us back to Lake Kitendara feeling very happy with ourselves.
Back at Lake Kitendara we met up with Jane who had an equally successful trek and treated ourselves to tea and cake and a quick flick through the photos followed by a lovely soak in the bath for our tired ...
... Kitendara Bwindi Safari Park resort in Buhoma at 5pm just in time for tea and cake and to be shown to our beautiful en suite safari tents. Tamsin and I were at the top of camp which was a journey in itself but the tents were comfortable and the surroundings beautiful. Following a quick shower and change, being creatures of habit we headed to the bar and then for a lovely buffet dinner of homemade soup, ribs ...
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda clarefun22... was very ***********e point as we were walking our leader told us to run there were ants. We started running I looked down and all there was was a floor of red ants and they bite. We suffered only a few bites and continued our trek back to the start. To wrap it up it was one of the most incredible experiences anyone could ever experience and we can not wait to show everyone our photos and videos. love ROBIN and BRETT
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda rockobattyWe have just arrived and are leaving for the gorillas tomorrow. I am going to keep this short because we are paying for the internet and have just spent the whole day in the truck. The drive to the gorillas will take 4 hours in a small van so not looking forward to that but the experience will be incredible! There will be no internet until we come back so we will let you know all about it as soon as we can. Miss everyone! Brett and Robin
Kabale, Uganda rockobatty... on the grass and set up. The outhouse actually had tp and a toilet seat so it was pretty nice all around! Have not felt so surrounded by jungle... or so far from civilization in a long time though. It was great. The next morning we get up and are joined by two other Canadians who will trek with us. They are a lovely couple, both on their way to the Congo (they are Doctors). They have an organization that they have started which I am hoping to post the link of ...
