... day progressed, however, we found ourselves looking up into the horizon and seeing a black-blue wall of a Utah desert flash flood coming up on us rather quickly. We ran back to the cars amid the rain/hail which continued into the night, yet Apples, Andres, and Elisa managed to get a raging fire going, so we weren't entirely freezing until we got into the tents.
We'll save the rest for the next entry!
... with passing generations of interesting old family stuff that gave it that "little cabin in the mountain village... museumish" feeling... like old black and white photos, skiing metals, dusty antiques, hand-me down knickknacks and comfy furniture that rocked away the aches and pains of the days activities... perfect for a mountain cabin...

We were went out for our Camfel tour on Monday. We have 2 1/2 days to make it to Illinoise for our first show. Here goes road tripping across the country!
We have loved it. The first night we stayed in Manti, Utah. Expedia found a shady motel way too far off the route. They were closed when we arrived, but on the office door was ...
... set some ground rules for the bus trip! The most important one was this, "When we stop, go to the restroom! Don't say you don't want to get out because you don't need to go to the restroom. JUST DO IT! When I say "Happy Hour", that means that the restroom is ready for you." Hahaha. How nice of him to symbolize Happy Hour as the restroom to remove all that anxiety. Happy hour makes you feel good, and so does the restroom! It's a good thing that we stop every ...
Utah, United States bobamaniac715... need to go down for the next 8 miles, my hands and feet were going numb but the construction required that we get off the bikes and walk them around some of the more intense areas. The rain is still coming down and the temperature is in the 40's, a far cry from Florida we are also still above 6,000 feet. Well tomorrow is another climbing day I just hope that it is dry!
Price, Utah, United States bot989So i went and rode ATV's in the sand dunes of Utah, a place called little sahara, about an hour and a half from salt lake or so, professionals go here, and this was my first time going to go ride in sand... it was crazy!! had a blast though, and i did well for my first time, at least i think so... I edited and made a cool movie out of the video's i took, so enjoy the videos and photos!
Little Sahara, Utah, United States jcjavoOn my way to Bryce I drove through the Zion NP, it was even more touching than my destination. The red rocks, the rock window, simply touching. I also bought one piece of Navajo pottery. It is now with me in my living room, reminding me the savage landscape and romantic curving road.
Zion, Utah, United States jackyna... we did give it some consideration! From there, we made our way to Capitol Reef National Park and again, wow factor. This is one of the parks that we had hoped to get to last year when we were in Utah but distance prevented us from getting here. This time, it was on the route. This is a place that we have put on our list of places to come back to for hiking and photography it is so beautiful. We have said it before and we have to say it again - these Mormons knew what they ...
Payton, Utah, United States judencharlieAbout this blog:
This travel blog isn't typical. I didn't start writing it at the beginning of my travels. I started this blog after I moved back to Utah from Hawaii, which I realized had become a common occurrence in my life. Leave Utah, move back, leave, move back. It all goes back to the U.S. higher education system and money, which would take me forever to explain so I'll just leave it at that. I wrote the entries from Hawaii ...
... as they're narrow and stick straight up. They used to be fin formations that eroded. It was named Bryce in 1923 after a Mormon guy who moved there even though the Indians that lived there way before them had their own names for it. Our first day there we just did the driving tour which really was not that exciting, but it's how so many tourists view the park (1.7 million per year), so we were thinking that this would be a quick visit. In the afternoon we hiked ...
