... marker has a wrought iron cross rather than gravestone, and in front of the marker is fresh soil with fresh flowers. Many folks were milling about the cemetery, most in traditional German clothing. We took a seat in the huge church; it was gorgeous inside-- very cathedral like. It kept filling up, then before we knew it, the band from last night (marching through the town at 11pm, 1am etc) played outside the church. After their songs, they paraded into church ...
Today was quite a day! We struggled getting Madelyn and Mason to bed last night (not until midnight!), so woke up groggy, stiff from the hard mattress and with a scratchy throat (me). The church bell tower not only rang out the time, but also the hymn of "Immaculate Mary"; a nice way to wake up. We enjoyed our garden and of course took more castle photos before getting into the taxi to travel to Trento to catch ...

We now realise that everything shuts for lunch here from about 12.30 to 4pm. We arrived in Pergine after going around the larger lake by bus and - with everything shut - we went into a grocery shop and bought cheese, crackers, olive caper paste and roasted zucchinis. We sat in the shade on a bench - we were delighted to see through the trees and over ...
