... of time and settled in for our 2 x 1 and 1/2 hr train trips. Two things that have amazed us here are 1. The number of vineyards and grapes - they are everywhere! Soooooo many grapes, no wonder local wine is cheap here. 2. The number of castles - if there is a flat or even a small ridge or shelf up high there is a castle on it!! Our Tyrolian adventure is over as we have now travelled from North to South ...

... to meet. After securing a map we set off down the road towards the smaller of the 2 lakes in this area. We loved that this was all downhill. We kept checking the map but somehow we did not take a track and ended up high above the lake on a road to the other end of the lake. As this was where we were intending to finish it did not seem to matter so much. Instead of strolling around the lake at lake level we were treated to views from above. Sue was foraging on the way there and ...

Our room is dark with it's imposing dark furniture and panelled walls and the lighting is dim. Just as you would expect really. We realised that we can't remember where our AU SIM cards were put. Had a little look but really can't remember. Ah well, this time we will need to organise a pick up ahead of ...

... nice coffee! Then it was onto planning the day which revolved around Annabelle and Susan cycling along a beautiful cycling route that Bryan decided. First, we needed an electric bike for Sue. Unfortunately Bryan took it upon himself to go and get a bike while Ric and Sue bought some Italian phone cards. His agenda was to get an ebike. Sue had made it clear that she only rides ebikes, ladies cruisers with a helmet, preferably sized to her. What she got was a men's ...

... very hard so it got steeper near the end. There were 38 hairpin bends on the way up (and 46 on the way down!!) VERY happy to reach the top as I cramped with 500 m to go. Not good! Amazing views from the top, and felt funny to be riding up through snow covered rock areas. The descent down the "classic side" was awesome with the 46 hairpin turns. Even overtook a bus! Wow. What a climb. Thought I had bit off more than I could chew doing an alpine climb, but did ...
