We are so happy to be travelling in the off season. Again, we got an upgrade here in Trento. This was planned as a rest time with 5 nights and a chance to view Stages 17 and 18 of the Giro d'Italia bike race. We had booked an OK room for Euro 105 per night with a view of a garden. Our tour of it was speedy (but half price!) because the site was being used for a service to honour loyal factory workers who have been locally employed for many years of service. Bicycles totally dominate the city with paths all over, plenty of bike parking etc. There are paths from here to the 3 neighbouring cities, running along the river valleys. Our hotel has a dedicated, off street bicycle storage room. People start trips from here down to Venice and there is an all-over air of excitement as their journeys commence.
