          ... We did travel the major highways from Tok to Fairbanks, Fairbanks to Wasilla, Wasilla to Anchorage, Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula, Kenai to Valdez and back to Tok. The road from Tok to the Canadian border was the worst in Alaska as much of it lies in permafrost country.

          ... felt the altitude when we climbed a few times. Dirt path wove through pine trees and rocks & wasn't too crowded. We went maybe around 3-4 miles total (trail is out & back, over 8 miles, one way).

          Took a side trail to see tiny, wooden lighthouse - actually a replica. Looked about the size of an outhouse. Near by, we're pretty sure we saw 2 eagles. One was perched in a tree top overlooking a large nest at top of a tree near bird. ...

          ... like kings with dinner and drinks, and the bill came to a total of $14.01.

          That led us to have a look at hotel prices in this area, and the long and the short of it is that we are happily ensconced in a Victorian room right now with all the amenities -- and even breakfast -- for $34 a night.

          After completing this project, my mind wondered to the idea of teaching stewardship. How often do we teach this in our school? Do my students understand the importance of being responsible citizens and managing their resources? I definitely want to focus on this topic more in the future!

          ... shaking and snapping at them. Then she wants to leave and she wants out of there. We quickly finish our lunch just before she starts to tow us down the street. There is no stopping her!

          A couple of hundred feet down the boardwalk she is barely controllable. But then we run smack dab into a cowboy in full costume who, after firing his six shooter a couple of times, announces that the next show is about to start so get yur tickets now! Our furry ones do NOT like loud noises ...
