We went on the 26 Glacier Cruise for the day. The weather was sunny, beautiful and calm - one of only 5 days the ship captain could remember for all this summer in Whittier! Yeh for us! We took hike around Kenai. Visiting the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church. It is one of the oldest churches in Alaska. Fort Kenay, Parish House Rectory (considered the oldest building on the peninsula) and St. Nicholas Chapel. The area has rich Russian history.

... wake them up for the tourists just near the end of the trip!! At the end of the trip, the crew helped us out and took us back to the starting point for departure.

We motored to Soldotna, about an hour away. We met up with out contact here and got our digs squared away along with the fishing contacts. We have a fly-in on Monday and two morning 6-hour trips on the Lower Kenai River on Tuesday ...
