We left Whittier after the cruise and camped at Wiiliwaw CG. A beautiful and magnificent location! We came here on the recommendation of Linda and Roger, who we meet when camping in Sarah Palin's backyard (Wassilla). Linda and Roger also recommend we go to the Begich Bogg Visitor center.

... the area. Fox Farming almost caused some birds to become extinct on the islands. Went to the Bear Creek Winery for tasting and purchase. Drove back to Soldotna and camped in Centennial Park.

The next morning we rose early at Deep Creek State Park to head back up to Soldotna for a salmon trip on the Kenai River. Our departure coincided with the arrival of the charter fishing boats that launch from the beach at Deep Creek. It is an interesting process. ... to eat at our cabins. We each have a cabin and supposedly there are eagles nesting near by and you can see the whales on the ocean. Man- what a day- again! ... a baby salmon with his fly which was funny because it gave him a little fight.

We were MUCH happier after catching several fish and though we released them, we were satisfied to know that it wasn't personal and these fish really do like us...kidding.

We headed back home to Anchorage...gotta get back to life. BUT it's not over between us and the silvers...we'll be back!
