... breakfast in Hong Kong, and mounted the stairs for a second day. We weren't too upset, since we hadn't had a chance to try even a fraction of the items on the huge menu the first day. We made sure not to repeat anything on Day 2, and again left the restaurant stuffed and satisfied. ... sets of Canadian couples that each had been on long extended tours of the Orient. We finished our food and then took a walk on the Bund. This was a nice riverside walk with an incredible view of the new downtown across the river. We took a bunch of photos and discussed the history of the city with George. We melted into puddles of flesh because the sun was so strong out.

Today, we caught our train to Shanghai at 8am, arriving at 1pm. The train was AWESOME, there was so much leg room and they had real toilets on the train! We met Jonny at the hostel, who had flown to Shanghai earlier that day, and went out in search of lunch. Then we booked our train tickets to Xi'an (overnight train...eep!) ...
... and headed for the shops. Monu was able to remember where Madhavan, Ladha, Dawit and himself had shopped on the first trip. I bought a lot of trinkets to bring back and Monu and Dawit did some serious shopping. Dawit came away with the most things including a very nice new backpack. This came in handy the rest of the day so we could carry around our finds.
