      Feelin hot hot hot!

      ... some photos. The next hike we did was a quick 1 mile hike called the Scrub Ridge walk. This walk was along a marsh and there was no shade so it was very hot. We remembered to put on our hats so that helped a little. The guy at the visitor center said there were little scrub birds that live there and when they saw people they would gather around them and ask for food. We think we maybe saw 1 or 2 of them but mostly we just got bit by mosquitoes so we ...

      ... day were pretty spectacular. And that was before I had consumed any mai tai!


      That evening the sunset was spectacular with an amazing palate of pinks, blues, purples, oranges, and yellows (and whatever) painting the sky. The atmosphere was incredible, the music was fabulous, and the experience of listening to Jimmy Buffet live under the palm trees and a star-filled sky on a warm Florida evening really couldn’t have been a more perfect ending to my first month of month of PhD research.
