... the eruption in august 2012. That reminded me of a friend of mine who was crossing that day. Seeing how dangerous that already is, and what damage had happened, it was a scary thought to actually be on the track during an eruption.
9 hours and 19.4km after we started our hike, we ended it with a beer to celebrate our alpine crossing with amazing views and super cold winds and snow and stunning beauty.
That is another day I will remember ...
