As we work our way eastward we decided to take a slightly southern route to add a little excitement into the journey. We started off by heading our car into the heat. We drove through Death Valley during a forcast 115 degree Fahrenheit afternoon. As we approached the first pass we turned off the air conditioner and headed down in elevation. We could feel the temperature rise as we descended into the valley. Within a few ...
Durango, Colorado, United States mistyandmarkYesterday was a huge day in Mesa Verde National Park. We staggered into Durango, Colorado for much needed rest. Mum has not been feeling well today, some sinus thing that she got on the flight over no doubt. This town inspired Ayn Rand to include it in her epic novel Atlas Shrugged. It is a very ...
Durango, Colorado, United States bengygi... br>There, Joe. There's your mention :)
Oh, Joe. I miss you and love you too! Now turn that frown upside down! :)
Before I go, I wanted to share some more great news. My boyfriend's grandparents are coming to Chino Valley on August 24 to see our show! It will be great to know people in the audience! I'm excited to see them on Monday night!
Well, that's all for me! Time to go to bed :) Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

... how my parents surprised me by coming to our first show in Denver?
Well, it wouldn't be the full (original) Luebke family without my awesome sister, Alyson!
She flew from Minnesota last Saturday to see the show in Aspen! I was so excited to see her! It meant a lot to me that she came, especially since her Aspen stay lasted less than 12 hours as she was on a plane back to Minnesota before 6:00 a.m. the next morning.
Can you say best ...
... 6+ bus ride ahead of us but it was anything but boring. Wow. What a view! The drive from Aspen, CO to Durango CO is absolutely breathtaking! We drove up one side of a mountain and down another. I never got bored staring out the window. The colors were exquisite: tan and brown mountain sides splashed with burgendy and dotted with evergreen trees. A bright blue sky speckled with clouds provided the perfect backdrop for the majestic ...
Durango, Colorado, United States meluebkeThe final weekend of Wade's visit we drove down to Navajo Lake and camped with Grandma Connie, Josh, Rachel, Rayven and little Josh. Our campsite was on the North side of the lake just west of the Marina. After setting up camp, we had a fantastic meal of . . . subway sandwiches. We weren't the only ones who ate well; the mosquitoes are easily mistaken for bats and they infest the ...
Navajo Dam, New Mexico, United States awhidden... for the evening. So, we went back to the UTE Native American Reservation Casino just outside of Cortex, CO. I forgot to mention, just like in the movie RV, my seatbelt always acts up. Sometimes I have to go back and forth a couple of times before I can get the belt on! Anyways, tomorrow we're going to try Four Corners again, then off to Mesa Verdes.
Cortez, Colorado, United States minimott... of the museum quite enjoyable. While there, I ran into a private tour where one of the visitors was related to the artists of many of the objects from the surrounding pueblos. Last stop for the day was the small but fascinating Georgia O'Keefe Museum. While the number of displayed tableaux was limited, it's variety gave a good sense of the different styles and periods of her career.
Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States thetraveller88... to say, Nadia and I were both more than happy to wade through the crowd for a Fatburger. Most of the day was spent walking up and down the Strip sight-seeing at each casino and keeping our eyes open for cheezy Vegas souvenirs (i.e. anything with Elvis on it). Originally we thought getting out of our hiking gear would feel good but the size of the casinos betrays just how far one has to walk to see everything on the Strip (and we didn't even manage that). By the end of the day ...
Cortez, Colorado, United States bradleyt... One man, presumably the instructor, circulated among the students giving photographic advice. Each student was aemed with several expensive camera bodies, an assortment of lenses, tripods, all the other paraphernalia considered crucial for serious, artistic photography. They were well supplied with expensive bags to keep it all in. I watched one lady set up her tripod and mount an expensive Nikon single lens reflex camera. She carefully tried several lenses, finally chose ...
