It has a different feel since over 60%25 of the land is privately owned and a different design of signs which take getting used to by us who are more familiar with National parks and state parks. We don't see much public access to beaches. Mostly resorts and private homes and cabins along the shores of various lakes.

    Unfortunately all our plans to see Lake Placid are washed by the wayside. The rain is too heavy to even consider a walk. We wanted to see so much in this area. By the way, the temps have dropped 20 degrees. I did not pack for winter. It is now a cold, raw 64 degrees.

    We were not excited about Vergennes. The water fall was nice, the town green community concert was cute, but the river was brown, the town was not vibrant and it was too hot.
