    Summary

Drove 534 miles in a tad under 10 hours.

    Highlights

Pretty slim for the highlights reel on a drive this long. We got away around 11 am after enjoying the Cleveland IPA's just a little too much.

Luckily the weather was perfect and the road easy. Once we got out of town our iPhone map advised that had 346 miles on the same road, a record for the trip I believe.

... paid for it all and even bought my dinner. He got the hotel because he wanted to print maps, but he never ended up doing that. It seemed like a waste of money to me. 90% of the times that we've had showers at camp, he hasn't taken one, so I don't know why he'd get a hotel room. It didn't fit with his norm. We'll go over on the ferry to Vermont tomorrow, and then he'll start heading south as I continue ...

We headed out early from Wellesley Island, intent on crossing the northern Adirondack mountains over to Plattsburgh, NY on the shores of Lake Champlain which separates upper Northeast New York State and Vermont. A ferry is required for the short route to Vermont so we will forego that because we want to head north up into Quebec.

We gradually rise in elevation from 200 ft to 1500 ft as we go deep into the Adirondack ...

Got an early start to head for Lake Placid. Going through Customs only took five minutes.

The highway was the same scene, more corn fields. We got onto Rt. 3 and it was not my favorite. It was very hilly, curvy, and the rain started. There were only two lanes making it not pleasant for Rich to hear me complain about how I did not sign up for a 7 hour car ride on this type of road conditions. He finally asked if ...

We were not excited about Vergennes. The water fall was nice, the town green community concert was cute, but the river was brown, the town was not vibrant and it was too hot. So we left early in the morning to make our way south to the Lake Champlain Bridge that was rebuilt and dedicated just a year ago. The trip down this narrow part of the lake was spectacular with the Adirondacks towering over us on our right and the ...
