After a hearty home cooked breakfast by Kendra Chris & I headed off alone as Mel wanted a day of easier roads & to visit a small castle, Frank was hostage! We decided to take the most scenic route to Rifle. We were soon among 10 other Harley's heading towards the 65 which was a scenic route through Adobe wilderness. We leave Mueller, with a little sigh because the park is so beautiful. We travel north and west to get to our next park. We go through a pass called Glenwood Canyon. This is a narrow canyon that is miles long. It is only wide enough for the Colorado River and the Interstate. This canyon is so narrow, that they had to stack the Interstate on top of each other. We stopped in Meeker at the suggestion of our friends Susan and Lloyd. The town is is named for Nathan Meeker, a Native American agent who was killed along with 11 other U.S. citizens by Ute Indians in the 1879 Meeker Massacre.
