    ... the roads were poorly marked and mostly dirt which was not really anticipated. We spent a couple of hours looking for Elk and had a really nice picnic along the way but finally gave up because of fear of getting lost or onto a muddy dirt road that was too long to navigate back to the real roads.

    ... up for any deviations from the famous itinerary. It's been a long day of driving but we made it to Gaylord Michigan, Bob Evans restaurant next to the hotel, so we don't even need to get back in the Tahoe today. After a big supper Ciera and I decided to walk to Walmart to get snack and drinks for tomorrow's drive, the old guy didn't come with us....claims he's allergic to Walmart....pffft!     ... Park of the island. There is a high point on the island which has the remainder of a large flint rock where over time water freezes in the rock and causes the rock to deteriorate thus causing a hole. According to information from our tour guide it won't last much longer so they are doing as much as possible to preserve what's left. No one is allowed on it but we were able to walk beside it to an overlook to take pictures.
