... the mountains and along the water. The airport is right in Nice and you could watch the big planes take off and land. We made our way down and then walked the promenade. It was so hot. Not a god day to wear a black shirt. We saw later it was 34 degrees, no wonder we were hot. It is a very busy spot. Cars everywhere. We were there in off season. I would hate to see it when it is peak season. I could come back to Nice but next time I would stay in the hotels in ...

Today the group all went on an optional to St.Paul de Vence... but we have been there so we opted out. Needless to say the group had to get up early, eat breaky and leave while we slept in (possibly tactless of me to yell down the bus last night to the leader asking what time they might stop serving breakfast. Great ...

Woke up to miserable weather so decided to drive directly to France, unfortunately the rain and fog got worse as we travelled. Crossed the border into France and headed to a camp spot inland slightly, not far from Monaco as we plan to explore it tomorrow.
On the winding road we came across the road closed due to a landslide, ...

... discovered that besides the super yachts, fashion and beautiful people St Tropez is famous for, it also is infamous for its lengthy traffic delays. With 1 road in and out of the peninsula village, traffic jams are known to take 4 hours to navigate. Plus we read, car parking could cost 40€. With this in mind, we decided to park at Sainte Maxime and catch the shuttle ferry across the bay. This worked out well - boats depart every 15 ...
