Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation

A travel blog entry by jimbo1999

... signs. So far I'd seen no rain, but the weather turned just as I got back to the hostel. Fortunately I was tucked inside just as the worst hit, and even that was over pretty quickly.
The evening was quiet as the beach house is pretty isolated and I didn't fancy wondering about on my own to be eaten by mozzies and god knows what else. I just had a shower (don't look up and you can't see the massive spiders in there) and chatted with the girls ...

... skin. I take my index finger and thumb and in one swift movement crush the body. As the ant's exoskeleton crumbles, I feel enormous and powerful, however, as a small man once told me, great things come in small packages and with the ants unwillingness to surrender I am bitten throughout the day. The Great Barrier Reef Adventure

... the rainforest and all that. And the hostel was really nice, with little cabins, a restaurant and a swimming pool and what not. So, I decided to head for the beach. And it was by far the best thing I did all day, it was stunning, even though it took me a couple of attempts to talk myself into walking along it in fear of being snared by a croc. There was exposed coral reef all along the beach which was beautiful, even though I kept stubbing my toes on it because I was so busy gawping ...

Long Drive and Four Mile Beach

... us a lot of things, but to be honest we didn't want to talk to him as he asked so many things. We had a lot of fun with this guy this evening, we will see what the night will bring with this OAP in the room. Another canister of white wine should help to survive this night. We had a nice evening with a lot of wine and enjoyed the tropical night in Port Douglas.
