We left Little Rock early in the morning (5 am) and attempted to head to Pinnacle Mountain to see the sunrise. Unfortunately the park didn't open until 6:30 so we opted not to wait. While mom and I were upset to miss what we have heard is a fantastic sunrise view, but ...

Today was a designated tourist day. Stuck around Hot Springs and did what other tourists do. The day started out with a trip to the Buckstaff Bath House. ... association with the gangsters of late 1800s to mid 1990s. Today you can see the beautiful architecture of the bath houses, two of which are still functioning. We also visited the Mountain Tower where you can see aerial views of the surrounding area.
Hot Springs is a fascinating town where you could spend weeks exploring everything on offer in the area. ...

... and puffed our way up showed that even 5 days of sitting around (as in driving 1500 miles) can cut into your fitness! The view from the top was no different from any roadside overlook and definitely not worth the trip, but walking around the town after our hike was interesting. Hot Springs was once the center of “taking the baths” and the Main Street is lined with beautiful old “bathhouses”. The National Park Service has restored one of ...
