After a pretty wet time again in wellington we drove up past Tongariro national park and stopped off to do a walk. we wanted to do the 8 hour walk which crosses between two snow-capped mountains but because of the weather you had to have proper snow equipment and we didnt even have walking boots so we settled for a milder walk for 2 hours where we saw a few waterfalls and lots of pretty scenery and we could see the two snow-capped mountains in the ...

... walking the streets of auckland drunken with accomplishment (and jet lag) we have had an endless array of hiking and sightseeing that would be impossible to explain. it has already been the most amazing experience of my life and to try and put it into words would only end up in endless cliches. maybe it's best to leave the words encapsulated in my mind for times when i become resentful.
