After saying our Tao goodbyes, we jumped on a tricycle to Coron Village Lodge which we had found beforehand online and reserved on the phone while on the boat. It was meant to be a decent mid-range place but as with many places we've stayed at in the Philippines, it was not looked after as well as it could be, and the water pressure was really poor …

Sunken Ships and Super Snorkelling

Apparently, Coron is one of the best dive sites in the world with lots of sunken WW2 ships and such like. Unfortunately diving is an expensive hobby. Snorkelling however is dirt cheap and good ol' Coron also has some brilliant snorkel sites to visit, not to mention stunning coastline and some nearby islands well worth taking a look at. So we hire ourselves a tiny boat with a 12 year old captain and his 13 year old mate. We make a list of some nearby stuff we ...

Wreck Diving Part Two

... do so I'm glad we have done so many.

We had the same nice lunch as the other day and then we went onto our next stop. Only our next stop was because the boat had broken down. For about an hour myself and the Aussie helped the stupidly energetic guides to start the engine by all pulling on a length of rope. If the people involved with this company weren't so nice I would be writing some seriously bad reviews on various websites. Faulty gear, ****** ...

Coron Island

... worrying about talking to the Filipinos. Having said that we did engage with them more than most recent tours. Nice people, all from Manila.
Like El Nido much of the wow aspect of the surrounding area is the black limestone cliffs. Much of it very similar to what we saw in Thailand and James Bond Island. The first stop was a walk up one cliff and to take some pictures of the surrounding area which was nice. Then down into another lagoon. The only interesting thing here ...

The hot springs is right next to the sea but, it was so dark it was hard to see the sea until the moon came out over it and lit it up. It was a nice way to end the evening. Tomorrow we plan to go on our snorkeling trip. I'm looking forward to it.

Not looked after & ran out of water

the place has potential but we were stuck in a room out the back next to the generator and upon returning home after a night out had no water in our room, when we asked the person on night duty he told us "10 minutes" twice but eventually we just went to bed unwashed and checked out the next day.
