    ... records at the Diocese level in Reno. She got a phone number of the archivist there, a nun with a fine Irish name. It's only right.


    We drove out the Silver Hill, where the numerous cemeteries are and searched for the two O'Keefe Children. It's a collection of the supposed 26 cemeteries which were relocated there. It's a mishmash of old graves and difficult to negotiate and nearly impossible to search.

    ... how cute he is in pictures.
    The stage coach wasn't running cause the horses had a health problem so we didn't get to do that and I hate open car coal fired steam engine trains so we didn't ride it either. You get covered in soot and I didn't feel like that in the heat.
    Tomorrow we are off to San Fran. Will let you know all about that tomorrow. ...

    ... were at home. But as all days come to an end, this one did too. As we left the saloon we saw the rain coming down real hard, good thing the door to the hotel was right next door under the covered walkway. Up the 37 steps to our room and calling it a night. the hotel is a full house tonight, all room sold out!
    God Bless the little baby who is getting baptized tonight, and all the travelers who may have to weather the storm.

    Our second day in Minden, Tim was determined that we would not do any more shopping.... carol equally determined to do a tad more! A slower start to the day with a lie in but after pottering around getting ourselves organized we headed out to Bonanza territory..... AKA Virginia City, a little historic township in the Sierra Nevada. After a brief stop along the way to pay homage to the Chocolate Nugget candy store ...

    ... the earthquake was a sign that Mt. Lassen was becoming more active. Ans. NO.) Mt. Lassen is 10,000+ feet and covered by snow like all the others are. We couldn’t get good photos.

    Note: Crater Lake was formed by a volcano in which the magma flowed out through small fissures creating a cavity under the peak. Then the center sank into the void and the lake was formed.
