... the pros completing the race don't ride it in these conditions. Given the weather we'd had from Abiquiu to Cuba, we'd already ruled the main route out. If we needed further confirmation, it came from fellow Divide riders Eric and Adam who we saw riding through Cuba yesterday. They had attempted the main route but had been forced to abort about twenty miles in. What we'd also had to rule out for the same reasons (unrideable trails after wet weather) was ...

But I scared myself silly last night in the motel I stayed in. I know everything was totally imagined and I let all those scary movies I've seen get the better of me. I pulled into Cuba, knowing that I have better get a room, or have to drive at least another 50 miles till there was ...

I went to Cuba maybe eight or nine times.

I hadn't decided if I wanted to head to Santa Fe or Albuquerque to stay the night. But I thought I would head in that direction and see where the night would take me.

I officially crossed the New Mexico border about 30 minutes after I left the Four Corner Monument. But about an hour or so I noticed it was getting to really be late afternoon and I started thinking maybe not making it all the way to ...
