    ... in hand, we set off to find the amenities. Of course we went the wrong direction first! And boy was it dark! So we finally headed towards the light...which is the public pool building, and Ron goes under a small tree, and awakens a bird that makes a huge ruckus and Ron comes running out from under the tree with his hands on his head,.,,it was a mini version of the movie 'The Birds'...pretty funny...Oh yeah, we found the showers and bathrooms...the showers are huge ...

    Price of gas: $2.59 - $2.75. We took one car (the Honda CR-V). Seth and Maddie came in their Ford Focus, and Jared flew in to Bemidji from Florida, and hitched ...

    ... six fish to take home. After fishing, we helped Dad take the boat out of the lake. Beth and I keep trying to get Dad to slow down, but he insists on doing things himself, even if it results in a little tumble now and then. He got his shoes wet today when he took a small spill into the lake, but he was all right, and finally allowed us to help him a bit more.

    It was time for our big picnic, so Tom and the other guys fired up the grills, and we all worked on final preparations for dinner.     ... our way home. It was okay, but nothing spectacular. The girls went swimming with their cousins for the last time, and then played some games. They rounded out the evening with one last campfire.

    And so...Cass Lake 2014 comes to an end. Here are the stats for the year to wrap things up:
