6th September. The sun is still shining and warm. We have arrived not far from the snow topped mountain of Mont Blanc at a campsite called 'Les Domes de Miage' where jeans were changed to shorts and we sat outside in the sun, the day is perfect. We can see Mountains capped with snow around us but not sure if any is the Mont Blanc from where we are but we had an awesome look at it on our drive here. We have all done some laundry, showered, fed and are going to relax for ...

... breath)! Found a shady spot next to / under a big boulder and munched happily on our baguettes while looking out over the glacier.

Mitch then sped off on a run back down the trail with plans to continue along another stretch of the grand balcons hiking trails, while I made my way down slowly with back pack and walking poles. WOW,WOW,WOW is all I can say to describe this mornings ride, we rode up hills and cruised back down with mighty mountains to our left and right. We were cycling through the mountains although there was still a few descent climbs for us. I got the biggest thrill and it really felt like an achievement to conquer some of these. Way up in the mountains you would think you would feel isolated - not in France there are small villages ...

Chamonix is only 14kms from the Swiss border and although deciding against going to Geneva, we wanted to see a bit of Switzerland. We drove up the valley from Chamonix to Argentiere and Vallorcine in France to Trient and La Forclaz at the top of the mountain pass looking down the valleys and open lands of Switzerland. We decided not to go to Martigny. We are aware that if we move onto ...

... We have to be up and out by 7:00 tomorrow, and I wanted to make sure we get a good meal in. They had a community pilgrim meal that randomly placed you with 6 travelers. It was awesome and reminded me of eating at dinner on a cruise ship, but Nic quickly reminded me she wouldn't have to walk 17 miles uphill on a cruise! LOL! I am absolutely loving meeting all these people. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! Buen Camino! Hardest day ...
