What a day ! We drove 90mins to Lac Aiguebelette and had a wonderful day. By chance we were able to wander into the athletes area and cruised around all their tents. Just like a Sunday picnic, except, stationery bikes, kids paddling pools and rowing boats everywhere. We tracked down the Kiwi's and quickly took a photo and moved on. We watched the activity on the athlete's screen, went and saw the boats being weighed and really felt part of the action. ...

The last race, similar to our own Hardrock 100 in mileage (this one being 170 kilometers) was just finishing about 4 p.m. Sunday ...

... We returned back to town for the finish of the 100k race because a New Zealand Woman, Ruth Croft, was in the lead. We had a great place in the finishers shute and gave Ruth our Silver Fern Flag. Ruth crossed the line with the flag and held it up high for the photos with the male winner. We were so proud of her. ...

    Chamonix - Climber's Disneyland!

For climbers, going to Chamonix is sorta like going to Disneyland as a kid. As the trip approaches, you count down the weeks till you arrive, look at cartoonish maps (guidebooks)and dream about all the rides (gondolas, climbing routes) you will hop on, and you continue to think about it as you drift off to sleep at night. You think: WILL get to ride ALL of the rides I want? So, as Jaga and I exited the Italian side of The Alps and entered the ...
