Last night we went looking for food and obviously should've gone right instead of left as all we could find was the equivalent of Pizza Hut and McDonald's. Not a very good introduction to French cuisine. Anyway as it was now getting late we settled on buying a loaf of bread and having a jam and cheese sandwich for tea haha. Still cool, but with sunny intervals. Decided to stay an
extra night here, to explore the local area.
Spent the morning housekeeping. Afternoon ride into
nearby, lakeside town of Gérardmer. Very pleasant forested, countryside around
here, with pretty chalet type houses. Lots of walks and cycle rides, with
skiing in the winter ...
We left our luxurious campsite reluctantly and are now back in France where our adventure began. The drive was long, but interesting. We passed by Lake Constance which looked very nice as a place to visit. The Zepplin was invented there and there are museums and airship rides! We saw two airships over the lake.
