... back roads.

19th
Spent a few hours hiking through the forest next to the Lodge, before heading down to Breckenridge and wandered around the town.

20th
The morning starts off with another hike into the forest. Then its time for my friend Gerry to arrive from Cleveland Ohio.

21st, 22rd
These days are spent sightseeing in the car. Bonus was seeing a mother moose very close to the Lodge.

Tomorrow we begin our adventure to the west coast

Skiing at Loveland

Had a mixed day at Loveland. Lindsay and I drove to Loveland early and got on the slopes by 10:30 or so. Kirk, Chris and Vienne didn't get there until noon.

  • Weather was great
  • Ski conditions were great
  • Lindsay really elevated her confidence with skiing
  • We skied all the blues runs
Unfortunately we didn't get to ski with Kirk, Chris and Vienne as they ended up ...

... the Mountain Manhattan and Kelly had the White Hot Martini. We ordered starters - escargot, lamb tandoori, and potatoe chips with blue cheese and chives. Watched the Riviera golf tournament for a bit, talked to a bartender who used to live in Austin, and generally had a great time. Walked back to the condo, then watched the Oscars (not so great).

... Ben was amused by the entrance to the subway through a secret door under a historic building (he thought it was like magi). We went to the Samuel Adams Brewery, where we got to taste many beers, including Pumpkin Ale, Ben tried to steal all of my beer and succeeded most of the time. When he got out of the brewery he was a bit tipsy and very happy, I think he has a new favourite beer and thinks he has a future in brewing.
From here we went to Nashville, where it rained non stop. ...

... but they itch really bad…and hurt too and now they have spread. I should take another oral Benadryl but I am concerned I will fall asleep again. That is why I just booked this hotel…which turned out to be a good thing but I was just so tired I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. I probably need a course of steroids like I did in Banff but I really don’t want to go to a dr. I was hoping this would get it under control. ...
