Well worth the extra money to stay in a cabin!

The Western Cabins are fantastic! They are log cabins are very quaint and comfortable. Wifi is available at the lodge, but cell reception was spotty at best. There are no TVs in the cabins or lodge, but we consider this a plus! Each cabin has a fireplace, which is nice on those chilly nights.

Our second night was in the Sunset Lodge, as there were no cabins available. It was ok. The rooms are dark, but we also found it to be very quiet. It is just a bit of a letdown after the cabins.

Enjoyed quiet lodge (motel type building) with large room, coffee maker & fridge & balcony looking into the pines. Large, 'lodge' type furniture & rustic decor.

Als je Bryce Canyon wilt bezoeken, is deze lodge een mega aanrader. Je hebt het amphietheater in de achtertuin op nog geen 100 meter lopen.

De kamers zien er top uit en voorzien van dubbel 2-persoons bed. Alles is netjes schoon. De kamers hebben geen TV, maar dat is gezien de lokatie niet vreemd. Wifi is beschikbaar in de lobby.

After a quiet night at the B&B, we had a yummy, full breakfast at 8 AM & had lovely conversation at our table with a couple from Portland, OR. Left B&B around 9:20 AM & continued on Rte 12 South, heading toward Bryce Canyon. Pretty morning, 55 degrees @ 10 - drove through some of Dixie National Forest. Stopped at the Escalante Grand …

We awoke pretty early, knowing that we would have to repack, eat breakfast, check out of the cabin and check-in for our horseback ride. Tommy decided to head to the rim for sunrise pics while I finished packing things up. We loaded the car and then headed to the lodge dining room for breakfast.

The lodge dining room had a really nice …

We awoke early since our bodies were still on Central Time. Breakfast at the Comfort Inn the next morning was fine. There were a number of choices of hot and cold items. Avoid the powdered eggs. Blech!

It was raining that morning, so we decided to take our time and gather a few supplies for the trip from the nearby Walmart. Then it was on …

Day Twelve -- Torrey to Bryce

This day was a combination of annoying misdirection and amazing beauty. We left Torrey early enough to make a stop to hike to a waterfall recommended to me on TA, but stupidly relied on the GPS to choose our route to Bryce Canyon National Park. I should have known it wouldn't take us the scenic route and by …

As arranged met Clint at 4:30am and he drove us out for our private photography tour. It was money well spent as Clint knew all the good places for shots and gave us a few tips. At 4:30am, it was still a fair time away from sunrise but I managed to get some good night shots but not perfect because I had misplaced my shutter release. The three and a …
