... who confirmed our lodging for the night. As close as the site was to a sheltered inlet, the ferocious wind, coupled with the "cosy" proximity of the other sites (sardines) got us thinking that we might shorten our stay in Cape Range. We also noticed that all but 1 of the other 11 sites had big caravans in them with a semi- permanent look to them. This was confirmed when on cue, at 5 pm, all of the blokes from each site appeared out of nowhere with beer cans in hand to congregate around ...

What an adventure I'm having! Julia and Krackers have given me a great taste of this beautiful area of Australia. Thank you.. My three beautiful grandchildren are the most amazing little travellers. Hundreds of kms and not a grizzle. I'm so impressed. Broome is gorgeous. Never seen a more beautiful beach. Have even donned the bathers a few times. Think I might change cars to a defender - what a workhorse. Very excited and looking forward to the next segment. The Dampier Penninsula. ...

My barramundi was cooked to perfection but I didn't like the chick pea salad it was served on. Overall, the restaurant atmosphere, service we would score highly, but the food unfortunately was not to our liking. As for the price I expected it to be around $110, but it was $185! If I knew the bottled water costed me $10.35 then I would have kindly declined ...

... load it into containers aboard ships for transportation. We spend about an hour here just wandering around, reading up and watching videos about this fascinating process. After we've been educated, we drive back to Karratha to get back on to the Great Northern Highway, which will lead us to our fee camping destination at Robe River, which by the way, is like almost every other river we've crossed over at this time of the year, it's bone ...

This morning we leave beautiful Broome behind, we've really enjoyed our 4 day stay here. It's a really nice place to visit. We're all packed up and ready to leave by 9am. We're headed up the Great Northern Highway, towards Port Hedland, we're hoping to make it initially to SandFire, where we may free camp, but we will make that decision when we get there. The road is very long and desolate, in fact my driver tells me that we have just travelled 22kms of straight road ...
