    ... in his eagerness to get in the water though - this trip is doing wonders for his confidence. Fortescue falls was nice too, though would be amazing after some rain. Afternoon - drove to the other side of the park (50km away) to check out oxey lookout where 4 gorges intersect. The view was top-notch but a bit breathtaking.     ... new ways, using our hands, thongs, plates, spoons and pot lids (which provides a comical ding). The heat reaches above 30oC however it is a different from what I experienced in cairns, it's dry not sticky, my lips dry in the desert warmth and I feel the strength of the sun even in the morning, not unbearable, but unpleasant as it hits mid-day, everyone adapts being lively in the morning or late afternoon.
    I hit a well know area of Gantheaum point, here ...

    ... bamboo beach huts and an old "raggedy" cafe on top of the hill. Very very upmarket now, safari tents, cabins, and of course the beach huts are still there, but much improved. While we were there we did a Tag-Along in our four wheel drive with Brian Lee, an aboriginal guide, to Hunters Creek, his traditional land. This was completely wonderful, clear blue water, saw a shark, a croc, saw a manta ray jump right out of the water while we were all watching him!

    ... We have seen quite a lot of the beach area as well as the cliffs and vegetation. I found some beautiful white flowers and the sunsets here are awesome. Australia is everything we knew it would be and more. We were surprised with a party and a barbecue from the locals who have become friends since we have been here. We will definitely remain friends and stay in touch. Hate to go but home is calling. ...
