... and our snorkel tour of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) the next day were both fine, mostly sunny days. We spent most of our time in Kuranda buying an Aboriginal painting and eating German sausages! I hope we have bought a genuine painting. We have a certificate of authentication (there is a lot of fake, copied indigenous art and didgeridoos on the market) and the manager of the gallery, a Mauritian Blues musician, Jimmy, was certainly convincing. ... We decided to travel to Cairns, to make Cairns our bbase, and then travel back to Port Douglas, Palm Cove and Kuranda. Getting to Cairns we booked into the Cairns Villa and Leisure Park. Each year Queensland put out a book, called Queensland Caravan Parks Directory.
