Kuranda railway and Skyrail
... some green apple ice cream to cool down which was so refreshing. It was then time to head back on the skyrail, one of the worlds longest gondola cableways at 7.5km. Cairns arrival
... back since the bus wasn't running. The hostel provided free thai curry and rice, with a purchased drink, that night which was delicious. I had to get up early to leave for a dive trip in the morning so I read books that night, finished the book 'On the Road' by Jack Kerouac that night, and began my new book 'Player Piano' by Kurt Vonnegut. The book 'On the Road' was amazing and will be an inspiration and guide for future travels. ...
Cairns Madness
... here have like a million fruit bats hangin from them which is just mental (see the pic!). They are everywhere! Only time ive ever seen a bat was in Longton library when I was younger! Anyways.. Went a bit batty then.. Got back to the room and mr aussie came back... He is just mental! I wasnt too sure about him at first but hes just up for a good time ALL THE TIME hahaa he makes everyone shot like half a mug whiskey every night and if you dont do it straight away he makes you do ...
Rambling about food...
... one we tried offered fresh home-made gelato, and they were all excellent.
Like the expression "G'Day, "Shrimp on the Barbie" does not exist in Australia. Lobsters are usually referred to as "Bugs" and Shimp are called "Prawns".
