      We got out of Washington DC alive. I will admit there were times when I wasn't sure that we would. Having said that, we met some great people and saw a few interesting things, so it was worth the near death experiences.

      It's pronounced "New MAD-rid" not “New Muh-DRID”, by the way. I found that out when we stopped by the local grocery store to find out if they had a laundromat in town. “In New MAD-rid? Ohhhh no, we do not. We used to have two, but the owner up and sold them a couple of years back. Your best bet is Sikeston.” Sigh…Sikeston is 18 miles away in the same direction we just came from.
